Then this means there’s nothing wrong with your AC unit, and you don’t need to call an air conditioner service yet. What you need to do is to try to manually turn on your AC unit.

There was actually a time when home appliances didn’t have a remote control. You needed to turn them on manually. But the fact is, many people have been spoiled by remote controls; they don’t know how to manually turn on their appliances!

If you can’t find the manual, don’t worry. There’s a good chance that you can find a copy online. You just need to know the brand and model of your air conditioning unit. Then Google it and download the manual if you can. You don’t really need to read the manual from cover to cover; although that would be the ideal thing to do. Usually, a users’ manual has a part in how to quickly operate the unit. You only need to read this part.

Of course, you need to be able to reach your air conditioner for you to be able to turn it on manually. This is why you see air conditioner installation tips saying that you need to install your AC unit in a place where you can easily reach it. The control panel of an AC unit is sometimes hidden under a protective cover. So you need to open the cover first before you can get access to the controls.

After you’ve turned on your air conditioner manually, you’ll need to do something with the remote control. It probably just needs fresh batteries. It’s also possible that the remote control is broken. If that’s the case, then you need to replace it.
